HUGO’S Experience

I began working professionally in the desktop publishing industry (as they used to call it) in 1989 – just a year after Apple released its Macintosh II, which featured a whopping 1MB of onboard memory.

As the go-to tech guy for Delaware’s first service bureau, my responsibilities ranged from the ‘front of the box’ (typesetting) to ‘inside the box’ (upgrades, adding RAM, etc.) to ‘connecting the boxes’ (networking). My reputation as a knowledgable and competent computer tech eventually landed me a position managing the electronic prepress department at a commercial offset printing company. I also began teaching continuing education classes at the Delaware College of Art & Design.

By 2000, the demand for my services allowed me to become a private consultant, working for companies in the financial services space, advertising agencies, graphic design companies and individual clients in the mid-Atlantic region. In 2004, I relocated with my family to Camden, Maine and began providing Apple-centric support and teaching macOS and iOS-focused classes throughout the midcoast and southern portions of the state. In the summer of 2020 I moved back to the UK and continue to help my clients back in the US as well as here in the UK.

I look forward to helping make your technology more productive for you.
